About us
The Arachne String Quartet formed in September 2025 as the Graduate String Quartet in Residence at Montclair State University. Their versatility and commitment to different styles and genres of music is demonstrated through the diversity of their collaborations, which span from a concert with Singer/Songwriter Samora Pinderhughes to a performance of Mendelssohn’s Octet featuring world-renowned violinist Stefan Jackiw. As a quartet they have coached with accomplished musicians such as Deborah Buck, Kathryn Lockwood, Tomoko Fujita, and Domenic Salerni, as well as participated in a masterclass with Emerson String Quartet member Lawrence Dutton. Upcoming engagements include collaborations with Leyla McCalla and outreach performances with organizations such as Music for All Seasons and Cali Pathways.
